In my class this week, we are exploring various ways of attracting users to a site and engaging them as members, repeat visitors, or customers.
This is known as conversion, when a user is successfully directed by the website architecture, links, and general marketing strategies, to cross the divide from casual visitor to committed user, usually by making a purchase or gaining their membership.
- Usability of the site:They need to be able to feel comfortable when they navigate the page,
- you will be dealing with people from all over the world, so you want to make sure that they can read the site, allowing them to choose a language would help.
- Allowing users to leave feedback or reviews would also give the added trust factor so that other users can get a sense of your reputation if you are selling a product or service.
- allow room for conversation to grow between users, and the website by creating a customer help /question form where you can have access to a live operator.
